Pip’s Tips · out and about

Staff on wheels

According to Pip, a cat stroller is not a pushchair. It is a private chauffeur with a panoramic roof.

Is a cat stroller a good idea?

For some cats, a securely enclosed stroller in a quiet location can provide enjoyable enrichment. For other cats, being outdoors is overwhelming. Look at the cat, not the appealing picture.

  • Allow your cat to become accustomed to the stroller gradually at home.
  • Always use a properly fitted harness and an additional attachment.
  • Start with short trips in a quiet place; avoid dogs, traffic and crowds.
  • Stop if you see flattened ears, dilated pupils, freezing, panting or escape behaviour.

No compulsory adventure

A cat who prefers watching the outside world from a safe window is not missing out. Enrichment should provide freedom of choice.
